Nathan Hewell pitched a complete game, allowing only two hits for the North Hall High baseball team in its 2-1 win against West Forsyth on Wednesday in Cumming.

Hewell finished the game with six strikeouts.

Trailing 1-0 in the sixth, North Hall’s Chris Stevens, Jackson Coker and Ryan Pitts strung together consecutive hits to take a 2-1 lead. Holdan Kellar scored the go-ahead run on a fielder’s choice for the Trojans (8-6, 5-3 Region 7-AAA).

Coker and Jacob Brewster each finished with two hits for North Hall.

The Trojans play host to Gilmer at 7 p.m. Friday at Jody Davis Field.

WEST HALL 6, CREEKVIEW 5: T.J. Williams (2-for-4) drove in Brandon Grindle for the winning run in the bottom of the seventh Wednesday in Oakwood.

Ethan Stewart (2-for-4) had two hits, including a solo home run in the second inning for West Hall (2-11, 1-6 Region 7-AAA).
West Hall visits West Forsyth at 5:55 p.m. Friday in Cumming.

GAINESVILLE 11, GILMER 1: Sloan Strickland led the Red Elephants with three hits and four RBIs Wednesday at Ivey-Watson Field.

K.J. McAllister had a solo home run for Gainesville (12-1, 7-0 Region 7-AAA) in the first, and finished the game with three runs scored and a pair of RBIs.

Ryan Griffith had two hits and a run for the Red Elephants.

Gainesville plays host to Johnson at 5:55 p.m. Friday.

JOHNSON 14, WHITE COUNTY 10: Trae Wilson led the Knights with a double, home run and four RBIs Wednesday in Oakwood. A.J. Benefield had two hits and a pair of RBIs for Johnson (9-6, 5-2 Region 7B-AAA). Logan Pethel had a hit and three stolen bases for the Knights.

Luke Crumley led White County with a pair of home runs. Cody Hensley and Marcus Rider each had a home run for the Warriors.

Johnson visits Gainesville at 5:55 p.m. Friday at Ivey-Watson Field. White County visits Chestatee at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

BUFORD 12, AVONDALE 0: Brandon Kinzel had a triple and three RBIs for the Wolves (12-3, 4-1 Region 6-AA) on Wednesday at Buford City Park.

Buford faces Providence at 4 p.m. April 9.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 4, BUFORD 1: Anna Kate Shaw and Morgan Reed won in singles for the Lady Falcons on Wednesday. Molly Smith/Nicki Price and Lindsey Shaw/Dani Taylor won in doubles for Flowery Branch.

NORTH HALL BOYS 5, GILMER 0: Clayton Nedza, Joe Nedza and Will Bennett swept singles play in straight sets for the Trojans (13-2, 12-0 Region 7A-AAA) on Wednesday. With the win, the Trojans have 13 consecutive victories.

North Hall visits Lakeview Academy today.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 3, GILMER 2: Cara Reece and Gay Anne Agnew each won in singles to pace the Lady Trojans’ victory Wednesday. Catherine Im and Becca Wren combined for victory in doubles for North Hall, which visits Lakeview Academy today.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 5, JOHNSON 0: The Red Elephants swept the Knights on Wednesday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 5, TOWNS COUNTY 0 (TUESDAY): Mike Fowler, Seth Black and Jackson Beck swept singles play for the Lions on Tuesday in Gainesville. Matt Morris/Alex Klecan and Grant Hocker/Will Kellemeyer swept doubles play for Lakeview.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 3, TOWNS COUNTY 2 (TUESDAY): Niki Patel and Jackie Burleson won in singles for the Lions on Tuesday. Cree Nix and Komal Patel won in doubles for Lakeview.

GAINESVILLE WINS AT HABERSHAM RELAYS: Chris West took first in the high jump (6-feet, 4-inches) and Blake Sims won the long jump (20-1) for the Red Elephants as part of a first-place team finish at the Habersham Relays last Saturday in Mount Airy. Also, the Gainesville boys earned first place in the 4x100 and 800 meter sprint relay.

For the Gainesville girls, the shutter relay team of Tierra Hill, Shelbee Carter, Shatora Butler and Somer Graham took first place. The Lady Red Elephants also won the 4x100 meter relay and the 4x400.

CREEKVIEW GIRLS 2, CHESTATEE 1: Andrea Cardoso broke free and scored for the Lady War Eagles (4-8-1, 3-5 Region 7-AAA) on a shot from 12-yards out with only 12 minutes left to play Tuesday. Chestatee visits Rabun Gap on Thursday.
