Jonah Crocker tossed a complete-game shutout as the East Hall High baseball team used a five-run sixth inning to roll to a 7-0 win against rival West Hall on Wednesday in Gainesville.
Crocker allowed six hits and struck out seven.
Crocker’s two-run single, Cole Smith’s RBI double, Jeremy Walls’ RBI single and Jesse Cooper’s sacrifice fly brought home runs in the sixth for the Vikings.
Smith scored two runs. Ronnie Peebles’ RBI double in the second inning put East Hall ahead for good.
CHESTATEE 10, NORTH OCONEE 9 (8 INNINGS): The War Eagles won on a walk-off walk for Mikey Petraroi on Tuesday night in Gainesville.
Eric George led off the bottom of the eighth with a single and stole second base, and Caleb Jameson and Griffin Moore were intentionally walked to load the bases. That set up the winning walk.
Jameson (two doubles, run, two RBIs), George (double, two runs, two RBIs), Moore (double, RBI), Joe Sutton (double, run, RBI) and Brian Crawford each tallied two of Chestatee’s 13 hits. Sean Irick had a single, scored two runs and had two RBIs.
Peyton Rider pitched four scoreless innings for Chestatee. Sutton tossed a scoreless eighth inning to earn the victory.
GAINESVILLE BOYS 5, LOGANVILLE 0: Jeffery Kiser, Graham McKinnon and Jackson Fox scored singles victories Wednesday for the Red Elephants in Loganville.
The Reagan Williams/Edward Belch and Roan Thompson/Trevor Munn pairings won in doubles for Gainesville.
The Red Elephants take on North Hall at 5:30 p.m. Friday in the Georgia Gwinnett College tournament.
GAINESVILLE GIRLS 5, LOGANVILLE 0: Katherine Wright, Haley Frankum and Josie Evert picked up singles wins for the Lady Red Elephants on Wednesday in Loganville.
The pairings of Madi Kiser/Georgia Summer and Ali Waggoner/Paige Ackerman secured doubles victories for Gainesville.
The Lady Red Elephants face Lambert at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Georgia Gwinnett College tournament.
RIVERSIDE MILITARY ACADEMY 3, CHESTATEE 1: The Eagles scored the final three goals in Wednesday’s non-region matchup with the War Eagles.
Samuel Palmer, Javier Carus and Michael Ajufo each scored a goal for Riverside Military, which got two assists from Ricardo Policarpo and one from Marvin Gonzalez.
Riverside Military (7-2) hosts Washington-Wilkes at 6 p.m. Friday
EAST HALL BOYS 2, LUMPKIN COUNTY 0: Leo Toledo scored both goals for the fourth-ranked Vikings in a Region 7-AAA victory Tuesday night in Dahlonega.
Victor Adame had an assist for East Hall (8-3-1, 3-0), which hosts Lakeview Academy at 7 p.m. today.
LUMPKIN COUNTY GIRLS 6, EAST HALL 0: The fourth-ranked Lady Indians shut out the Lady Vikings on Tuesday in Dahlonega.
Emily Roberts had 23 saves in goal for East Hall (2-10, 2-1).
The Lady Vikings host Lakeview Academy at 5 p.m. today.
RIVERSIDE MILITARY ACADEMY 173, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 196: Freshman Lee Norton fired a 3-over 39 in nine holes as the Eagles won Wednesday’s match in Oakwood.
