The North Hall High baseball team defeated Monroe Area 12-2 in five innings on the strength of a 10-run fourth inning Monday night.
Fowler Brooks led the Trojans with three hits, and Taber Mongero added two hits. Corbin Lewallen, Aaron Miles, Micah Strickland and Matthew Cox each drove in two runs. Strickland had a third-inning two-run home run to tie it 2-all after the Hurricanes scored the first two runs.
Miles’ two-run single and Mongero’s RBI double highlighted the 10-run fourth.
Lewallen pitched all five innings to earn the win, allowing two hits, two walks and two unearned runs.
RIVERSIDE MILITARY ACADEMY 17, TALLULAH FALLS 2: Will Lovett crushed two home runs and totaled four hits in a lopsided seven-inning road victory over the Indians on Monday.
The Eagles scored seven runs in the final inning to secure the win, including Lovett’s RBI single.
Riverside’s Sean Allison gave up just three hits, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three batters in more than three innings of work. The Eagles scored two runs in the second inning, then followed it up with two more in the fourth. Trevor Ballard’s two-run single allowed Nick Moss and Lyle Lopez to score early.
Lovett had a three-run homer in the fifth to bring home Lopez and Ballard.
NORTH HALL BOYS 5, WHITE COUNTY 0: Jackson Davis, Dalton Patterson and Reid Lattanzi’s singles wins paced a Trojans team that dropped three games all match and none in doubles on Monday.
The Matt Booth/Paxton Gillespie and Matthew Chewning/Masa Kobayashi doubles pairings also prevailed for North Hall.
The Trojans (4-1, 2-0 Region 8-AAAA) play at Monroe Area today in region action.
NORTH HALL GIRLS 5, WHITE COUNTY 0: Natalie Oxley, Kelsey McCray and Tricia Dial earned singles victories at home Monday.
The Hannah Gibson/ Kaitlyn Smith and Courtney Barnes/ MaryClare Patterson pairings took doubles wins for the Lady Trojans.
North Hall (3-1, 2-0 Region 8-AAAA) play at Monroe Area today in another region match.
GAINESVILLE BOYS 13, PEBBLEBROOK 4: John Wagner scored five goals in Gainesville’s victory Monday in Mableton. Baxter Geyer added three goals, Luke Snelling and Dill Hood tallied two each and Charlie Simpson tacked on one of his own as the Red Elephants improved to 3-5-1 on the season. Snelling and Hood notched four assists apiece, Simpson had three and Dre Rias and Will Gaydon turned in one apiece.
Sam Terray recorded 10 saves in goal for Gainesville.
The Red Elephants will return to action against Forsyth Central on Thursday in Cumming.
