The Chestatee girls soccer team secured its first region win by defeating Lumpkin County 3-1 on Monday in Gainesville.

Andrea Cardoso scored the first goal for the Lady War Eagles off a cross from Alexis Rebollar in the 15th minute to give Chestatee a 1-0 lead.

An early second-half goal tied the game for Lumpkin County (4-5, 1-5 Region 7-AAA).

Kelsey Neukum scored 13 minutes later to give the Lady War Eagles a 2-1 lead.

Nikki Bellue added a security goal late in the game for Chestatee (3-6-1, 1-4 Region 7-AAA).

Vanessa Chavez had two saves in goal for Chestatee, which plays Gainesville at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at City Park.

Lumpkin County plays host to Flowery Branch at 5:30 tonight.

WEST HALL GIRLS 4, NORTH HALL 3:
Tania Perez had three goals for the Lady Spartans on Monday in Gainesville.

Monica Pascual also scored for West Hall (7-2, 5-0 Region 7-AAA).

The Lady Spartans visit Loganville at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

North Hall (2-4-1, 2-3 Region 7-AAA) plays host to Johnson at 5:30 tonight.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 6, EAST JACKSON 0: Led by Raquel Castillo’s three-goal performance, the Lady Red Elephants won Monday in Commerce.

Natalie Allen, Kelly Mattick, and Hartley Carter each had one goal for Gainesville (5-3, 2-3 Region 7-AAA).

The Lady Red Elephants play host to Chestatee at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
