Jimmy Lloyd carded a 73 and finished sixth individually to lead North Hall’s boys golf team to a fifth-place finish at the TaylorMade/Adidas Invitational on Saturday in Waynesboro.

Landry Haynes shot a 76, Charlie Matthews had a 78 and Jackson Berry recorded an 82 to give the Trojans a score of 309.

North Hall will play in the Big Red Shootout on Monday at Chattahoochee Golf Course.

LADY INDIANS FINISH 10TH: Morgan Wood shot a team-best 113 to lead Lumpkin County to a 10th-place finish at the Bronco Invitational on Saturday at Summitt Creek Country Club in Snellville.

Taylor Gooch finished with a 117 for the Lady Indians, who play North Hall on Tuesday at Chestatee Golf Course.

Soccer

BUFORD GIRLS 3, SHILOH 0: Katie Garth, Lindsey White and Melissa Sullivan each scored a goal in the Lady Wolves win Saturday in Snellville.

Kaitlin Hollis recorded the shutout for Buford (6-2).

The Lady Wolves play host to Banks County on Tuesday.

WEST HALL GIRLS 2, CENTRAL GWINNETT 1: Tania Perez and Brooke Reed each scored for the Spartans on Saturday in a win over Class AAAAA Central Gwinnett.

West Hall plays at North Hall at 5:30 p.m. Monday.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 4, STEPHENS COUNTY 3 (Friday): Alexis Rebollar did a little bit of everything for the Lady War Eagles on Friday by scoring two goals and coming up with a crucial save in a shootout that gave Chestatee a win.

Rebollar, who’s second goal forced overtime, was one of three Lady War Eagles to convert during the shootout. Sharon Sotelo and Kelsey Neukum, who scored in the first half, also made their kicks in the shootout.

Chestatee (2-6-1) plays host to Lumpkin County on Monday.

Baseball

BUFORD 9, NORTH GWINNETT 7: Jamie Ritchie went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs to lead the Wolves to a win Saturday in Suwanee.

Kyler Berrett went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs for the Wolves (8-2), who visit Blessed Trinity at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

CHESTATEE 12, PICKENS 5 (Friday): Kevin Clifford had eight strikeouts in five innings to lead the War Eagles to their seventh straight win Friday in Jasper.

Clifford, who surrendered only three hits, also hit his first career home run in the fifth inning. Scott Chewning and Zack Sisk each had two hits for Chestatee (7-0, 3-0 Region 7A-AAA).

The War Eagles play host to Gilmer at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

JOHNSON 13, WEST HALL 1 (Friday): Logan Pethel went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Knights past West Hall on Friday in Oakwood.

Ryan Farmer had three hits and an RBI, and Blake Stacey, Trae Wilson and Ethan Loggins each had two hits for Johnson (4-3, 2-0 Region 7B-AAA).

Blake Stacey had six strikeouts and gave up only one hit to earn the win on the mound for the Knights, who visit Chestatee at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

CREEKVIEW 14, NORTH HALL 7 (Friday): The Grizzlies scored six runs in the first inning and never looked back Friday in Gainesville.

Jackson Coker cut the early 6-0 deficit in half with a three-run home run in the first, but North Hall gave up five runs in the top of the fifth en route to the loss.

Jeff Abernathy had two hits and Whit Bowen and Austin Phillips each had doubles for the Trojans (5-4, 2-1 Region 7A-AAA).

North Hall visits White County at 5:55 p.m. Monday.

NORTH HALL FINISHES IN TOP 10: Peyton Wilhoite, who threw a discus 171-feet, 7-inches Friday at the Coaches Classic at Georgia Tech, finished first at the Flowery Branch Invitational on Saturday to lead the Trojans to a fourth-place finish.

Other top-five finishers for North Hall were: Jordan Chaffin (second in the 400-meter and third in the 200), Ben Booth (third in the pole vault), Cody Barger (fourth in the 3200), Ben Satterfield (fourth in the 200), Jacob Fortner (fourth in the 110 hurdles) and Randy Olson (fourth in the 100).

The 4x400 relay team of Chaffin, Travis McEnany, Will Martin and Luis Gonzalez finished third and the 4x100 relay team of Isaiah Gillerson, Satterfield, Olson and Chaffin placed fourth for North Hall.

For the girls, Sallie Davis placed third in the 800 and Victoria Rogers placed third in the 3200. Ansley Lawson (800 and 3200), Sarah Harper (1600) and Mallory Rich (discus) all placed fourth for North Hall.

Jordan Collins also broke her personal records in the wheelchair shot put, 800 and 200.

MCCORMACK SETS RECORD: North Hall senior Ty McCormack set a meet record Saturday with a 4:17.56 in the 1600 at the Coaches Classic at Georgia Tech.
