Behind a hat-trick from Tania Perez the West Hall girls soccer team defeated Stephens County 5-2 on Wednesday in Toccoa.

Rachel Kline and Jessica Dambach each scored one goal for West Hall (5-3, 4-0 Region 7-AAA).

The Lady Spartans visit Central Gwinnett at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Baseball

JOHNSON 14, PICKENS 1: With 16 hits the Knights defeated Pickens on Wednesday in Oakwood.

Trae Wilson led the Knights with two three-run homeruns and a double.

Ryan Farmer, Logan Pethel, A.J. Benefield and Chris White each had two hits.

Benefield also picked up the win on the mound, striking out five and only giving up three hits.

Johnson (5-4, 2-0 Region 7B-AAA) plays host to West Hall at 11 a.m. Saturday.

PEACHTREE RIDGE 5, BUFORD 2: Despite a home run from Mason Gentry the Wolves lost on Wednesday in Suwanee.

Dylan Stowe and Josh Heddinger each had a double for Buford (7-2).

The Wolves visit North Gwinnett at 2:30 Saturday.

RIVERSIDE MILITARY EARNS FIVE FIRST PLACE FINISHES IN TRI-MEET (TUESDAY): Billy McCoy won the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, Tarvin Dukes placed first in the shot put with a throw of 39’8”, Marlin Veazie finished first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.52 seconds, Hyung Seok Oh won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 41.9 seconds, and the team of Veazie/Pluhar/Anderson/Tudor won the 4x100-meter relay for the Eagles on Tuesday in Dawsonville.

Riverside Military travels to North Oconee at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Tennis

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 4, TALLULAH FALLS 1 (TUESDAY):
Lions’ singles players Mike Fowler and Seth Black combined with the doubles teams of Matt Morris/Alex Klecan and Grant Hocker/Will Kellemeyer to defeat Tallulah Falls in straight sets on the road Tuesday. Lakeview Academy visits Commerce at 4 p.m. today.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 4, TALLULAH FALLS 1 (TUESDAY): The Lady Lions received three strong singles performances from Niki Patel, Jackie Burleson and Lisa Coles to win on the road Tuesday.

The doubles team of Cree Nix/Komal Patel won their match without losing a game.

Lakeview Academy visits Commerce at 4 p.m. today.

CREEKVIEW GIRLS 3, NORTH HALL 2 (TUESDAY):
Despite winning both doubles matches the Lady Trojans lost on Tuesday in Canton.

The teams of Cara Reece/Morgan Van Meter and Anna Eades/Becca Wren won in straight sets.

North Hall travels to White County at 4 p.m. today.

Lacrosse

GAINESVILLE BOYS 10, PARKVIEW 4: The Red Elephants had goals from five different players to beat Parkview on Wednesday in Lilburn.

Jimmy Nguyen, Son Vu, Billy Hallowes, Caston Davis and Irving Saldierna each scored for Gainesville.

Dale Morley had 19 saves in goal for the Red Elephants who visit Duluth at 7:30 Friday.
