High School Scoreboard: Leo Toledo scores four goals as East Hall downs Gilmer, 8-1
Johnson girls soccer wins close contest over No. 7 Creekview

The second-ranked East Hall boys soccer team defeated Gilmer, 8-1, behind Leo Toledo’s four goals and two assists on Friday night.

Kevin Bran, Diego Ramirez, Maury Ibarra and Alex Arrelano were the other goal scorers for the Vikings. Sergio Turcios recorded three assists, Brian Galvez had two and Carlos Castrejon finished with one assist.

East Hall (12-1, 3-0 7-AAA) visits Oglethorpe on Tuesday.

EAST HALL GIRLS 4, GILMER 2: Kimberly Quintanilla scored two goals for the Lady Vikings on Friday.

Maryanna Hernandez had a goal and an assist and Jade Reed scored the other goal. Rosa Montes and Marcy Villatoro each had an assist.

The Lady Viking have won three straight and five wins marks the most wins in a single season for the Lady Vikings soccer program.

East Hall (5-8, 2-1 7-AAA) visits Oglethorpe 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

JOHNSON GIRLS 1, CREEKVIEW 0: Freshman Dani Malone was able to intercept a misplayed ball from the Creekview back line and shot it far right post over the Creekview keeper to score at the 23rd minute of the second half on Friday.

Johnson goalkeeper Hannah Hodge earned the clean sheet against the No. 7 team in Class AAAAA.

Johnson (6-6-1) hosts Madison County on Thursday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 6, GEORGE WALTON 0: Andrew Miller Bell scored four goals and Bryce Kimball had four assists on Friday.

Simon Fox and Hayes Kennedy had the other goals for the Lions, and Seth Munn added an assist.

Lakeview Academy (6-4, 4-0 8-A) visits Providence Christian 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 12, GEORGE WALTON 2: Carmen Wagner recorded four goals on Friday.

Meredith Tucker, Bree Bell and Shannon Waddell each scored two goals. Emma Reinhardt and Madison Smith both finished with a goal apiece.

Lakeview Academy visits Providence Christian on Tuesday.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 2, DISCOVERY 0: Alyssa Turner found the back of the net and Breana Fair scored on a penalty kick in the second half for the Lady Red Elephants on Friday.

Gainesville (10-2, 7-0 8-AAAAA) plays Lanier on Tuesday.

Baseball

BUFORD 9, CHESTATEE 1: Chestatee’s Joe Sutton drove in Cameron Wilson with an RBI double during the top of the seventh inning for the War Eagles’ lone run on Friday.

Chestatee pitcher Clay Coffey pitched three innings in relief, allowing one unearned run on two singles with three strikeouts.

Chestatee hosts Buford 5:55 p.m. on Monday.

STEPHENS COUNTY 11, NORTH HALL 9: North Hall’s Fowler Brooks went 3 for 4 with three RBIs on Friday.

The Trojans scored eight runs in the sixth inning to take a 9-8 lead heading into the seventh, but gave up three to the Indians in the top of the inning and were unable to retake the lead in the bottom.

North Hall’s Tabor Mongero went 2 for 3 with two doubles and two RBIs, Reese Olson had a two-RBI double and Jake Chester hit a solo home run.

Stephens County’s Kooper Briley went 3 for 4 with two doubles, a home run and five RBIs.

North Hall (11-5, 6-1 8-AAAA) visits Stephens County 5:55 p.m. on Monday.
