The Region 8-A champion Lakeview Academy baseball team capped off its regular season with a 4-3 win against Hebron Christian and an unbeaten region record.

The Lions (23-1, 16-0 Region 8-A) allowed three runs in the first inning, then shut out Hebron the rest of the way.

Tyler Ward pitched four innings and allowed one earned run to earn the win for Lakeview. Ralston Cash recorded the save.

Haughton Carswell had two runs scored, Cash and Brett Armour each had an RBI and Ross Biegler added a run scored for the Lions.

Lakeview plays host to the fourth seed from Region 7-A in the Class A state playoffs at 2 p.m. Friday.

White County 6, East Hall 3

Kevin Frederick pitched a complete game with five strikeouts to lead the Warriors to a win Friday at East Hall Park.

Kyle Mills led White County (15-11, 13-11 Region 7-AAA) with two hits, including a double.

Both teams’ seasons are complete.

Johnson 15, West Hall 13 (Thursday)

The Knights concluded their season with an eight-inning win Thursday in Oakwood.

Johnson (6-20, 6-18 Region 7-AAA) scored five runs in the seventh inning to tie the game at 13, then scored twice in the eighth to secure the win.

Nick Denard picked up the win for Johnson, holding the Spartans scoreless in extra innings.

Denard also had two hits for the Knights, along with Christian Duguay, Trae Wilson and Blake Stacey.

The Spartans (8-18, 6-18) were led by Josh Preston’s four hits. Max Everitt, Brandon Grindle, Jake Shirley and Travis Clements each added two hits for West Hall.

Both teams’ seasons are complete.
