Melissa Dickie led Buford’s softball team in the pitching circle throwing for four innings with two strike outs and allowing only two hits to defeat Class AAAAA’s Kell 4-0 on Wednesday in the Cobb-Gwinnett Challenge at Georgia Tech.
Junior Karly Fullem entered the game for Buford to pitch the remaining three innings and secured the shutout allowing no hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Fullem also went 2-for-3 with a double and a pair of RBIs.
Chelsie Thomas went 2-for-4 with a run scored and Kallie Case went 1-for-2 with a run scored for the top-ranked Lady Wolves.
Buford (11-3) plays host to Greater Atlanta Christian at 5:55 p.m. Thursday.
LUMPKIN COUNTY 2, NORTH HALL 0: Lumpkin County was led by Frankie Wells in its victory against North Hall on Monday in Dahlonega. Katie Copeland got the win in the pitcher’s circle. The Lady Indians visit West Hall on Tuesday at 5:55 p.m.

North Hall sweeps at Buford
Evann Rowland led North Hall with 20 kills, three blocks and four aces on the night to defeat West Hall (25-22, 25-23) and Buford (25-23, 25-23) in Buford on Wednesday.
Anna Marchman had five kills, three blocks, and one dig for the Lady Trojans, Kathryn Bell had 30 assists, three kills, and two aces and Haley Panter had a nine point service run with three aces.
Kristen Holmes led the way for West Hall with 13 kills, Tonya Bennett had eight kills and two aces, Nicolette Ashely had six digs, Julie Walsh had 15 assists and Erica Granger had 13 assists.
North Hall visits West Forsyth tonight in Cumming. West Hall next plays at the Darlington Invitational in Rome on Saturday.
