High School Scoreboard: Kight throws 3-hitter in 6-1 win over Flowery Branch

Flowery Branch junior pitcher Kara Kight gave up just three hits in a 6-1 victory against Habersham Central on Tuesday in Flowery Branch.

Sophomore Alexis Nixon finished with three hits, while Alyssa Kimbrell and Chloe Zoeller both had two hits for the Lady Falcons. They both ended the night with two runs scored.

Flowery Branch improves to 6-5 on the season and hosts East Hall at 5:30 p.m. today.

BLESSED TRINITY 3, CHESTATEE 0: Elizabeth Eddins finished with seven strikeouts in the circle for the Lady War Eagles (13-3, 1-3 Region 7-AAAA).

Bailey Mason, Katilyn Babb and Kala Sargent each had one hit for Chestatee.

Chestatee hosts Habersham Central today at 5:55 p.m.


North Hall’s Autumn Tucker finished with 16 kills and 11 digs in Tuesday’s four-set victory over West Forsyth (23-25, 25-12, 25-22, 25-13).

Lily Paschall finished the night with 32 assists, five aces and 15 digs for the Lady Trojans. Melissa DeVerter had 13 kills, five blocks and 11 digs, while Madison Brock totaled with six kills and three aces for North Hall. Caroline Brady added four kills, one block and four aces for the Lady Trojans.

North Hall will play in the Collins Hill Classic, which begins Thursday at in Suwanee.

LADY WAR EAGLES DROP TWO MATCHES: Chestatee (1-15) lost both ends of a tri-match against East Hall and Jackson County. Nicole Sedwick earned two aces, two kills, eight digs 2 1/2 blocks, Anna Bryce Tucker finished with two aces three kills, 18 assists, 11 digs and a 1/2 block for Chestatee.

Chestatee Madelynn Woodard finished with an ace, 14 kills one assist, and 12 digs. Chestatee lost against Jackson County in three sets (25-21, 22-25, 25-21). East Hall beat Chestatee in two sets (25-19, 25-20).

Chestatee’s next match is at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Lumpkin County Indian Invitational.
