High School Scoreboard: Kight delivers stellar performance at the plate in 7-4 Flowery Branch win

Kara Kight was stellar for Flowery Branch, stroking four extra hits in a 7-4 win against Habersham Central on Wednesday in Mount Airy. Kight had a pair of doubles, a triple and home run for the Lady Falcons.

Also for the Lady Falcons (4-5), Alexis Nixon had three hits. Kasey Smith and Jessica Houston combined for the victory in the circle for Flowery Branch.

Flowery Branch faces Clarke Central at 5:55 p.m. today in Athens.

CHESTATEE 8, DAWSON COUNTY 7 (8 INNINGS): Cheyenne Roper had three hits and Rebecca Eddins pitched a complete game for Chestatee on Wednesday.

In addition to her three hits for the Lady War Eagles (13-1, 1-1), Roper drove in a pair of runs. Elizabeth Eddins had two hits and an RBI for Chestatee.

After Dawson County scored twice in the top of the extra inning, Chestatee came back with three in the bottom half to win the game.

Chestatee hosts Marist at 5 p.m. today in Gainesville.

EAST HALL 10 COMMERCE 1: Steffanie Redmon had a 14-strikeout pitching effort for the Lady Vikings (6-5) on Wednesday.

Redmon only allowed five hits and didn’t surrender a walk over the complete-game showing. At the plate, she had two hits.

Jennifer Lopez had a run-scoring double for the Lady Vikings who padded their lead with four runs in the fourth inning.

Kaitlyn Daniel also drove in a pair of runs in the fourth inning with a double for East Hall.

East Hall hosts Fannin County at 5 p.m. today at East Hall Park.

GAINESVILLE 12, CLARKE CENTRAL 2: Lindsey Ledford tossed a complete, five-inning performance to record a win for the Lady Red Elephants (6-8, 0-4 Region 8-AAAAAA). Ledford allowed one earned run and struck out three.

At the plate, Ledford had three RBIs, while Emma Phillips had a trio of hits.

Aliyah Goss, Isabella Folger, Jayla Williams and Sydney Payne each delivered two RBIs.

Gainesville will travel to Sugar Hill to play Lanier at 5:30 p.m. today.
