High school scoreboard: Joel Barrientos' two goals help North Hall boys soccer top Stephens County

Joel Barrientos racked up two goals as the North Hall boys soccer team beat Stephens County 5-1 on Tuesday night in Gainesville. 

Jackson Madonna had a goal and three assists for the Trojans (3-0), while Garret Jones and Peyton Mavity netted a goal apiece.

North Hall visits Jackson County at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Jefferson.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 2, CHESTATEE 1: Gainesville’s Allondra Fuerte scored a goal in Tuesday’s contest. Sydney Bonilla also had a goal for the Lady Red Elephants (1-3-1).

Gainesville hosts Johnson at 5:30 p.m. Friday in City Park.

JOHNSON BOYS 10, LAKEVIEW 1: Michael Arcia produced a hat trick for Johnson on Tuesday.

David Samaniego tallied a goal and an assist for the Knights. Rigo Campa had a goal for Johnson, as well, while teammate Jose Gomez added a goal and an assist. Jonathan Miralrio, Felix Velasquez, Alex Penaloza and Pedro Martinez all contributed a goal apiece for the Knights.

Andrew Miller scored on a free kick for Lakeview (1-1-2).

Johnson plays Gainesville on Friday in City Park, while Lakeview hosts Flowery Branch at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Gainesville.

EAST HALL GIRLS 6, CEDAR SHOALS 0: Denci Murillo’s hat trick lifted the Lady Vikings (1-0) to a win Monday in Athens.

Jancy Almendares scored two goals and had three assists for East Hall. Jessenia Argueta contributed a goal with an assist for the Lady Vikings, while Marcy Villatoro and Anna Elizarraiaz pitched in an assist.

East Hall plays Darlington at 5 p.m. Friday in Gainesville.

EAST HALL BOYS 2 CEDAR SHOALS 0: Carlos Castrejon and Brandon Callahan each scored a goal for the Vikings (3-0) on Monday in Athens.

East Hall’s James Stoudenmire placed second in the Class AAA state championships Feb. 9-11 at the Macon Coliseum in Macon. Stoudenmire competed in the 132-pound weight class.
