Chapman hits final four for East Hall

Hayden Chapman hit four straight free throws in the final seconds of the game to lead the East Hall boys to an 86-82 win against St. Francis on Friday night. Chapman scored a total of 20 points, and J.C. Hampton notched 37 for the Vikings. Brian Edwards and Joe Berry finished with 13 and 12 points, respectively, for East Hall.

The Vikings host Banks County at 4 p.m. today.

BUFORD BOYS 56, DECATUR 41: Kyle Kellam led the Wolves (10-3, 4-0 6-AA) with 15 points, 11 rebounds, six steals, four assists and one block Friday in Decatur. Isaiah Williams scored 14 points, T.J. Shipes scored 13 points and Payton Wehunt finished with 10 points for the Wolves. Buford will play next at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at Cross Keys High in Atlanta.

BUFORD GIRLS 45, DECATUR 41: Kaela Davis led the Lady Wolves (8-5, 4-0 6-AA) with 16 points on Friday in Decatur. Kristina Nelson and Kallie Case scored 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Buford will play at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Cross Keys High in Atlanta.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 75, TALLULAH FALLS 12: Austin Pearson led the Lions with a career-high 29 points on Friday in Gainesville. Derek Fadool finished with 14 points for Lakeview Academy.

The Lions play next at 8:30 p.m. on Friday at Athens Academy.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 57, TALLULAH FALLS 33: Mona Abraham and Taylor Handte led the Lady Lions with 13 points apiece Friday night in Gainesville. Molly Gay finished with 10 points for Lakeview Academy.

The Lady Lions play at 7 p.m. on Friday at Athens Academy.

BANKS COUNTY GIRLS 43, EAST JACKSON 23: Deasha Beasley led the Lady Leopards (10-4) with 12 points Friday in Commerce. Taylor Patrick led the Lady Eagles with nine points.

Banks County plays at 4 p.m. today at East Hall.

RABUN COUNTY GIRLS 75, DAWSON COUNTY 57: Morgan Huber led the Lady Tigers (8-7) with 12 points on Friday. Ashley Parker and Sheyenne Seabolt scored 10 points apiece for Dawson County. Allie Costley led the Lady Tigers in rebounds, recording six for the night.

Dawson County will travel to play at 7 p.m. today at Lumpkin County High.

WEST HALL BOYS 59, JOHNSON 58: Rico Jones led the Spartans (7-8, 2-1 8-AAA) with 16 points on Friday in Gainesville. Tyswon Cantrell had 15 points and A.J. Stephens finished with 11 points for West Hall.

Ty Odem led the Knights with 17 points. A.J. Benefield and Montrell McKenzie scored 13 and 11 points respectively.

West Hall plays at 7:30 p.m. today at Lanier; Johnson hosts Monroe Area, also at 7:30 p.m. today.

WEST HALL GIRLS 47, JOHNSON 27: Kaelyn Gattis led the Lady Spartans (4-3, 1-2 8-AAA), scoring 15 points and five rebounds on Friday in Gainesville.

Leading the Lady Knights were Lyndsey Pethel (11 points) and Harlee Robson (10 points). West Hall plays at 6 p.m. today at Lanier; Johnson hosts Monroe Area at 6 p.m. today.

WHITE COUNTY BOYS 61, LUMPKIN COUNTY 50: Andrew London scored a team-high 15 points, Spencer Adams had 12, and Eddie Hurst had 10 to lead the Warriors to a win in their subregion opener on Friday in Dahlonega.

The Warriors (5-8, 1-0 Region 8A-AAA) host Fannin County at 5:30 tonight.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 42, MADISON COUNTY 40: Tavia Sykes led the Lady Falcons with 20 points on Friday in Madison County. Flowery Branch will play at 4 p.m. today at North Hall.
