The Habersham Central boys cross country team placed three runners in the top 10 and, with 69 points, finished first as a team to win the Eagle Run on Saturday in Commerce.
Top 10 placers for the Raiders included Seth Martin in fifth (18 minutes, 13.48 seconds), Brian Elder finished eighth (18:23.83) and Branson Sanders placed ninth (18:32.33).
West Hall’s boys finished third with 105 points. Josh Pendley placed 14th, Jimmy Gault finished 17th and Carl Aquino was 18th for the Spartans.
Buford’s Matt Johnson was 10th individually (18:36).
Dawson County’s Maddie Walters won the girls race (20:48) and led the Lady Tigers to a first-place team finish with 45 points.
Emily Beusse finished third (21:10) and Krista Morgan placed 10th (22:45) for the Lady Tigers.
Jackson County’s Brittany Aikens finished second overall (20:55).
West Hall placed fourth overall (105), behind an eighth-place finish from Taylor Long (22:15).
Buford’s Dottie Kellogg placed seventh overall (22:12).
Lady Trojans take two at Collins Hill
The North Hall High volleyball team won matches against Duluth (25-10, 25-10) and North Springs (25-21, 25-20), and lost to Hebron Christian (25-20, 23-25, 26-24) at the Collins Hill Classic on Saturday in Suwanee.
Kathryn Bell had 42 assists, seven kills and six aces for the Lady Trojans. Lauren Gregory had 15 kills, eight digs and two aces for North Hall. Evann Rowland added 19 kills, 14 digs, nine aces and a seven-point serve run.
