Taylor Hawks scored 16 points for the Gainesville High girls and pulled down seven rebounds in a 62-57 win against Habersham Central on Thursday in Gainesville. Tia Shelton also scored 16 points for the Lady Red Elephants (10-3, 2-0 Region 8-AAAAAA). Gainesville visits Winder-Barrow at 7 p.m. on Friday in Winder.
