High school scoreboard: Fullem leads Lady Wolves to win

Buford ace Karly Fullem led the Lady Wolves to a 3-0 victory against Dacula on Thursday at Mill Creek High School. Fullem (1-0) pitched a complete-game shutout and struck out nine while only allowing six hits and one walk.

Alysha Rudnik led the way at the plate for Buford finishing 2-for-4 with a triple and one run scored.

Lexi Overstreet was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Melissa Dickie went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

The Lady Wolves (1-1) return to action at 6 tonight against the Oconee Co. Warriors at Mill Creek High.

FLOWERY BRANCH 2, GILMER 0: Roxie Dalton pitched a shutout against the Bobcats throwing six strikeouts while only giving up one hit.

Cally Orr and Caitlin Fowler each went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

The Lady Falcons (2-2, 1-1 7-AAA) travel to North Gwinnett to face Houston County at 8 p.m. tonight.

WEST HALL 11. LAMBERT 1, 5 innings: Bailey Soucie went 4-for-4 and had four RBI’s to lead the Lady Spartans to an early win Thursday night.

Miranda Miller went 3-for-4 and had a pair of RBI’s. Emily Hammond, West Hall’s winning pitcher, only gave up one run and seven hits.

The Lady Spartan’s (6-2, 2-0 7-AAA) play host to Chestatee at 5:55 Tuesday.


Gainesville splits Thursday matches

The Lady Red Elephants beat Chestatee in two games (25-12, 25,22), but lost their second match to Morgan County (25-21 25-14) on Thursday at Gainesville High.

Tiara Hill had eight kills and four blocks, Katelyn Welchel had three kills with two aces and Shay Roper had seven assists to lead Gainesville.

The Lady Red Elephants (1-3) travel to play Lakeview at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

A hard night for West Hall

The Lady Spartans lost to Jefferson (21-25, 25-12, 25-23) and Hebron Christian (25-22, 16-25, 25-10) on Thursday night at Jefferson. Kristen Holmes had 14 kills, Erica Grainger had 12 assists, Julie Walsh had 11 assists, Nicolette Ashley had 50 digs and Saide Cornett had 5 aces to lead the Lady Spartans.

West Hall will face North Hall and Buford at 5 p.m. Thursday at North Hall.

Lakeview Academy beats Athens Christian in two

Morgan Black and Louisa Jacobs had five kills each to lead Lakeview over Athens Christian (25-19, 25-13).

Anna Clair Dover added seven assists for the Lady Lions. The Lady Lions (3-3) travels to Rabun to play the Wildcats 6 p.m. Monday.
