Sechrist strikes out seven allows one hit for Falcons

Zander Sechrist pitched three innings of one-hit ball with seven strikeouts for Flowery Branch in a 9-0 win against Johnson on Monday in Oakwood.

Trace Merck, Anthony Grutadaurio, Andrew Reichart and Blake Decker each doubled for the Falcons (8-7, 1-0 Region 8-AAAAA). Grutadaurio and K.C. Dzialo each scored twice for Flowery Branch.

A.J. Gonzalez had a hit, two sacrifice flies and drove in three runs for the Falcons.

Flowery Branch hosts Johnson at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday at the Hog Mountain Sports Complex.

Dylan Pineda won in No. 3 singles in straight sets (7-5,6-1) for Gainesville in a 3-2 win against Lanier on Monday at Lanier. Michael Head/Roan Thompson won in No. 1 doubles for the Red Elephants in straight sets (6-1,6-0).
Thomas Carter/Max Wuest won in straight sets (6-1,6-0) at No. 2 doubles.
Gainesville visits Habersham Central today in Mount Airy.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 4, LANIER 1: Gainesville’s Haley Frankum won at No. 1 singles in straight sets (7-6 ,6-4). Ali Waggoner won in No. 3 singles in straight sets (6-2,6-1) for the Lady Red Elephants.

Paige Ackerman/Madi Kiser won in No. 1 doubles in straight sets (6-2,6-3) for Gainesville, while their teammates Paige Patterson/Grace O’Keefe won in straight sets (6-3,6-4) in No. 2 doubles.

Gainesville visits Habersham Central today.

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 5, NORTH HALL GIRLS 0: Annabelle Thomas won in No, 1 singles for Flowery Branch (0-6, 6-3, 10-8) while teammate Olivia Correa won in No. 2 singles (6-3,6-2.).

Olivia Nance picked up a win for the Lady Falcons in No. 3 singles defeating her opponent in straight sets (6-4,6-4). Peyton Brick/Kylie McGuire won in No. 1 doubles for Flowery Branch, while Flowery Branch’s duo Marissa Barrett/Brenna Martin won in straight sets (6-2,6-4).
Flowery Branch visits Walnut Grove today.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 5, NORTH HALL 0: Drayton Matus was the No. 1 single winner for Flowery Branch. Tucker Smallwood won in No. 2 singles while teammate Gunnar Hetzel won in No. 3 singles. John Hollis/Brady McVey won in No. 1 doubles for the Falcons. Dominick Garcia/Brody Millwood were the No. 2 doubles winners for Flowery Branch.
