The Riverside Military basketball team defeated Rabun County 67-63 Monday in Tiger to secure the top spot from Region 8A-AA in next week’s region tournament at North Oconee High.

Richard Tribble led the Eagles (15-3, 8-0 8A-AA) with 22 points, Brandon McKinney scored 18 and Dylen Setzekorn finished with 12.

The Eagles visit Lakeview Academy at 5:30 p.m. Friday. Riverside awaits the winner of a region play-in game for its region tournament opener next Tuesday in Watkinsville.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 77, LOGANVILLE 54: Kevin Kanca scored a career-high 24 points to pace the Falcons (11-11) on Monday in Flowery Branch.

Ishmael Hollis scored 15 and grabbed 16 rebounds for Flowery Branch. Leading 14-8 after the first quarter, the Falcons outscored Loganville 31-18 in the second period.

Flowery Branch plays host to Johnson at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
