Westmoreland leads White County to 3-2 win over West Hall

Trailing 2-0, Brett Westmoreland had a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning for White County in a 3-2 win against West Hall on Tuesday in Cleveland.

Dylan Lee added a double for White County. Blake Thomas earned the win pitching six innings and picking up five strikeouts and Spencer Adams got the save for the Warriors (3-0).

Jake Shirley went 2 for 4 with a double for the Spartans, and Cameron Johnson added a double.

White County visits Northview High at 5:55 p.m. Friday in John’s Creek.

JACKSON COUNTY 10, WASHINGTON-WILKES 1: Jesse Tallent earned the win for the Panthers pitching four innings and allowed only one hit with six strikeouts on Tuesday. Austin Robinson went 2 for 3 with three RBIs for Jackson County, and Nick Corso went 2 for 3 with an RBI.

The Panthers host Clarke Central at 5:55 p.m. Friday in Jefferson.

FANNIN COUNTY 2, LUMPKIN COUNTY 1: Evan Gaddis led the Indians (2-1) with a single and an RBI on Tuesday afternoon.

Lumpkin held a 1-0 lead until the Rebels hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning for the win.

The Indians host Fannin County at 5:30 p.m. Friday.

RABUN COUNTY 3, CHESTATEE 1 (Monday): The War Eagles (0-1) picked up a run in the fourth inning Tuesday afternoon in Tiger, but the Wildcats (1-0) came back scoring runs in the fifth and sixth to pick up the win.

Chestatee visits East Hall at 5:55 p.m. Thursday.


JOHNSON GIRLS 5, WINDER BARROW 0: Maggie Turner won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles for the Lady Knights, and Ashley Hogan and Karina Rivera finished 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles on Monday in Oakwood.

LUMPKIN COUNTY 3, CHESTATEE 2: Jared Copeland won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 singles for the Indians on Tuesday afternoon in Dahlonega. Edgar Rojas recorded 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles for Lumpkin County, and Evan Befile and Jonathan Gilreath 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

Top No. 1 singles player Jonathan Cook won 6-4, 6-4 for the War Eagles (2-2 overall, 2-1 Region 8-AAA North), and No. 1 doubles duo Blaine Brown and Reed Johnson won 6-3, 6-2.

Chestatee visit White County on Thursday.


WEST HALL GIRLS 72, LUMPKIN COUNTY 75: Malorie Smith and Olivia Davis each had a 36 for the Lady Spartans in a seven-hole match on Tuesday afternoon at the Achasta Golf Course in Dahlonega.

Morgan Wood shot a 35 for the Lady Indians and Haley Dibble finished with a 40.


CHESTATEE BOYS 5, WALNUT GROVE 1: Arnold Gamez, Roldan Reyes, Edgar Guerrero, Marco Rebollar and Jose Ibarra each scored for the War Eagles (3-2) Tuesday night in Gainesville.

Michael Herrin recorded nine save for Chestatee.

The War Eagles visit North Forsyth at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

JOHNSON GIRLS 8, EAST HALL 0: Bethany Johnson led the Lady Knights (3-2, 1-0 Region 8-AAA South) with three goals and three assists Tuesday night in Gainesville. Kayla Reed added two goals for Johnson and Anna Torres, Kayln Dumanowsky, and Kelsey Dumanowsky each scored one goal. Macy Collins recorded the shutout for the Lady Knights.

Johnson visits Creekview at 6 p.m. Friday.

JOHNSON BOYS 1, EAST HALL 0: Israel Azuarra scored off of an assist from Jonathan Mendoza for the Knights (2-1-2) Tuesday night in Gainesville. Josh Martin earned the shutout with six saves for Johnson.

The Knights visit Creekview at 8 p.m. Friday.

WHITE COUNTY GIRLS 2, LANIER 1: Kerry Huycke scored both goals for the Lady Warriors (2-3, 1-1 Region 8-AAA North) Tuesday night in Cleveland. Chloe Gedney and Elin Osterberg earned the assists for White County, and Melody Driscoll finished with 11 saves.

The Lady Warriors visit Monroe Area at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Monroe.

LANIER BOYS 3, WHITE COUNTY 1: Coley Loudermilk scored for the Warriors (2-3, 0-1 Region 8-AAA North) Tuesday night in Cleveland.

White County visits Monroe Area at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Monroe.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 9, MONROE AREA 0: Hartley Carter led the Lady Red Elephants (4-1, 2-0) with three goals Tuesday night at City Park. Ashlie Gonzalez and Rebecca Webster combined for Gainesville in the shutout.

The Lady Red Elephants visit Lanier at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 10, MONROE AREA 0: Ricardo Gomez led the Red Elephants (4-1, 2-1 Region 8-AAA South) with one goal and four assists Tuesday night at City Park. Roman Arriaga added one goal and one assist, Yunis Yanes had one goal two assists, and Edgar Espenoza, Edwardo Espenoza, Alberto Murrillo, Douglas Mejia, Merly Valazquez, Eric Romero, and Wesley Cooper each added one goal.

NORTH FORSYTH GIRLS 1, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 0: Mona Abraham recorded 17 saves for the Lady Lions on Tuesday night in Gainesville.
