The Flowery Branch baseball team jumped out to an eight-run lead in the first two innings and cruised to the 11-1 win against North Hall on Wednesday in Gainesville.
Chase Hulsey, Keltin Devoe and Logan Conley each went 2-for-4, with Devoe having three RBIs and Conley adding two. Hulsey also scored two runs for Flowery Branch (2-0), which visits Riverside at 4:30 p.m. Monday.
The Trojans lone run came in the bottom of the fourth inning. North Hall (1-1) visits White County at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.
DAWSON COUNTY 8, RIVERSIDE MILITARY 3: Anfernee Seymore went 2-for-3 and Austin Bailey hit a two-run double in the top of the fourth inning, but the Eagles lost Thursday in Dawsonville. Noah Curtis added an RBI double for Riverside, which visits Pinecrest Academy at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Dawson County, which led 3-0 after the first inning and never trailed, hosts Gilmer at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
BUFORD 15, ARCHER 0: Taylor Harter hit a two-run home run and Troy Herterick went 2-for-4 with four RBIs as the Wolves won a four-inning game Thursday in Buford.
Sam Clay (2-0) earned the win on the mound, throwing three innings with five strikeouts, while Brian Clark went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Buford (3-0) hosts Hebron Christian at 4:30 p.m. March 7.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 86, NORTH HALL 99: In her first high-school golf match, Gainesville freshman Meg Callahan carded a 42 to earn low-medalist honors in the season-opening win Wednesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course. Also in her first match, freshman Morgan Reese carded a 44 in the eight-hole match for Gainesville, which plays in the Gwinnett Open at 9 a.m. Saturday in Winder.
FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 162, LANIER 254: Garhett Gentry carded a 39 to lead the Falcons to the win Thursday at Reunion Golf Course in Flowery Branch. Ryan Tewksbury (40), Kameron Williams (41) and Colby Stone (42) rounded out the scoring for Flowery Branch, which faces West Hall at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday at Chicopee Woods Golf Course.
LUMPKIN COUNTY GIRLS 106, DAWSON COUNTY 115: Morgan Wood carded a 47 and Hannah Fowler fired a 59 to lead the Lady Indians to the win Thursday at Achasta Golf Course in Dahlonega. Lumpkin County will face Gainesville at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Chattahoochee Golf Course.
LUMPKIN COUNTY BOYS 162, DAWSON COUNTY 173: Led by Austin Booker’s 1-under-par 35, the Indians won Thursday at Achasta Golf Course in Dahlonega. Aaron George (36), Rhett Stringer (42) and Joseph Jarrard (49) rounded out the scoring for Lumpkin County, which plays in the North Forsyth Tournament at 9 a.m. Saturday in Cumming.
Wesley Bearden’s 1-under led Dawson County, which plays in the Coal Mountain Classic beginning at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hampton Golf Course.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 5, WEST HALL 0: Led by singles wins from Morgan Mercer, Brinkley Frankum and Lauren Carter, the Lady Red Elephants (2-1, 2-1 Region 8B-AAA) won in straight sets Thursday at Alberta Banks Park. The doubles team of Kate Callahan/Martha McKinnon and Suzanne Smith/Mady Wuest also won for Gainesville, which visits Lanier at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
JOHNSON BOYS 4, LANIER 1: Oscar Rivera and Casey Tanner earned singles wins, while the teams of Cristian Delgado/Parker McDonald and Carlos Flores/Grayson Anthony swept doubles for the Knights on Thursday in Gainesville. Johnson (3-1, 2-1 Region 8B-AAA) visits Oconee County at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
JOHNSON GIRLS 4, LANIER 1: With two singles victories and a sweep of doubles, the Lady Knights won Thursday at Davis Middle School. Cady Nix and Maggie Turner earned wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, while the teams of Claire Crain/Harlee Robson and Carlyn Ivey/Emma Rowlett won both doubles matches. Johnson visits Oconee County at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
WEST HALL BOYS 3, GAINESVILLE 2: With one doubles win and two singles win, the Spartans won Thursday at Longwood Park. Max Wilson earned a win at No. 2 singles and Connor McFall won at No. 3 singles, while Tatum Scroggs and Min Kim teamed up to win at No. 1 doubles. West Hall (7-0, 4-0 Region 8B-AAA) hosts Flowery Branch at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Ryan Joiner earned a win at No. 1 singles and the team of Alex Davis and Alex Zais won at No. 2 doubles for Gainesville, which visits Monroe Area at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
