Kaela Davis scored 23 points to lead the Buford Lady Wolves to a 51-30 victory over Greater Atlanta Christian in the Region 6-AA championship game on Saturday at Jackson High in Atlanta.
With the win, the Lady Wolves (24-3) earned a No. 1 seed and will host No. 4 seed East Hall on Friday at a time to be determined.
Buford, which has won the AA state title the last two seasons, is region champion for the second time in three seasons.
The Lady Wolves led 25-9 at halftime and closed the game on another 25-9 run in the fourth quarter.
BUFORD BOYS 67, DECATUR 45: The Wolves (20-8) clinched a No. 3 seed in the Class AA tournament and will play at Rabun County next Saturday at a time to be determined.
The Wolves were led by Alex Flagler’s 24 points and Kyle Kellam’s 10 points.
NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN 63, HORIZON 62 (OT): The Chargers (19-6) won the Independent Christian Schools of Georgia and Alabama tournament championship on Saturday in Columbus.
Zach Pendley scored 27 points to earn tournament MVP honors and lead North Georgia Christian to its first boys title in school history — the school opened in 1985.
Tyler Harney added 11 points for the Chargers, who trailed 31-19 at halftime and 42-34 after three quarters before going on an 18-7 run in the fourth quarter to force overtime.
