Austin Venable tallied 12 points, six rebounds and five assists to lead Banks County to a 58-41 win against West Hall in the Region 7-AAA tournament on Wednesday in Homer.
Zez Steeple added 12 points for the Leopards (22-4), and Kamal Wiley had eight points.
Banks County faces Lumpkin County at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Franklin County High in Carnesville.
LUMPKIN COUNTY BOYS 49, FANNIN COUNTY 48: Jack Howard notched 16 points in the fourth quarter to propel the Indians to a win on Wednesday in the Region 7-AAA tournament in Homer.
Howard finished with 22 points for Lumpkin County. Jacob Zarate and Zach Pulley each contributed seven points.
The Indians take on Banks County at 5:30 p.m. Friday in Carnesville.
BUFORD GIRLS 85, MONROE AREA 27: Camille Anderson and Marissa Bruce each recorded 15 points for the Lady Wolves in the Region 8-AAAA tournament on Wednesday in Buford.
Chandler Hall and Zikaya Wright each scored 12 points for Buford (23-3).
The Lady Wolves face Madison County at 6 p.m. Friday at Johnson High.
LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 60, ATHENS ACADEMY 58: Tre Gober tallied 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Lions in the Region 8-A tournament on Wednesday at Prince Avenue Christian in Athens.
Josh Randolph recorded 15 points and had five steals for Lakeview Academy (17-9), Daniel Fadool added nine points, and
Carter Reeves had eight rebounds.
The Lions face the No. 1 seed from Region 8-A, Athens Christian, at 8:30 p.m. Friday in Athens.

GAINESVILLE GIRLS 8, CENTRAL GWINNETT 1: Liz Fischer netted four goals for the Lady Red Elephants in the season opener on Wednesday.
Alyssa Turner had two goals and two assists for Gainesville, Jazmin Penado added a goal and two assists, and Caroline Nabb had a goal.
Alondra Wedding earned the win in goal with five saves.
The Lady Red Elephants visit Berkmar on Friday in Lilburn.
