Hampton leads East Hall

J.C. Hampton led East Hall (19-6, 10-0 Region 8-AA North) with a game-high 14 points in a 76-48 win against Union County Friday night in Blairsville. Brian Edwards and Chris Orr each added 11 points for the Vikings.

Zach Odom finished with a team-high 13 points for the Panthers and Rhett McCombs added 12.

East Hall will host the first two-rounds of the Region 8-AA tournament beginning Monday. The Vikings first game is 8:30 p.m. Wednesday against an opponent still to be determined.

EAST HALL GIRLS 57, UNION COUNTY 42: Morgan Jackson led all scorers with 20 points for the Vikings (22-3, 9-1) and Jasmine Jenkins added 18 Friday night in Blairsville.

Rebecka Merritt led the Panthers (19-6) with a team-high 12 points.

Both teams will play in the Region 8-AA tournament Tuesday at East Hall.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN BOYS 66, BALLARD CHRISTIAN (Ala.) 45: Trey Collins led the Eagles (16-8) with a team-high 16 points Friday night in Gainesville. Dylan Boonstra finished with 13 points, 10 rebounds and two blocked shots and Aaron Willis added 13 points for North Georgia Christian.

The Eagles face King’s Academy at 5 p.m. Thursday in Columbus.

NORTH GEORGIA CHRISTIAN GIRLS 42, BALLARD CHRISTIAN (Ala.) 17: Julianne Sutton led the Lady Eagles with a game-high 16 points Friday night in Gainesville.

North Georgia Christian will advance to the Independent Christian Schools of Georgia semifinals Thursday in Columbus.

DAWSON COUNTY GIRLS 56, BANKS COUNTY 44: Carly Gilreath led the Lady Tigers (12-13, 3-7 Region 8-AA North) with a team-high 22 points Friday night in Dawsonville.

Dawson County travels to East Hall on Tuesday for the 8-AA region tournament.

DAWSON COUNTY BOYS 64, BANKS COUNTY 42: Tyler Dominy led the Tigers (19-6, 6-4 Region 8-AA) with a game-high 19 points Friday night in Dawsonville. Will Anglin added 12 points for Dawson County and Jonathan Sanderson finished with 10. 

Adam Hiten led the Leopards with a team-high 16 points.

The Tigers finished third in Region 8-AA and will visit East Hall at 8 p.m. Monday for the first round of the region tournament.
