Savannah Thellman had a 14-point scoring run on serve with seven aces, 10 digs and 31 assists for East Hall in wins against Athens Christian (25-17, 25-12) and Madison County (25-16, 25-16) on Thursday in Athens.
Holly Poole chipped in 10 kills and a dig for the undefeated Lady Vikings (4-0).
Also for East Hall, Summer Lindsey had 32 digs, three assists and a kill. Tessa Rider added 19 points on the serve with four aces, five kills and 13 digs.
Minette Maldonado had 14 kills and 12 digs for the Lady Vikings, while Niyah Rucker tallied 17 kills, three blocks and two aces.
On Saturday, East Hall faces Discovery at 10 a.m. in Lawrenceville.
FLOWERY BRANCH SWEEPS NORTHVIEW: Junior outside hitter Ellie Luciani had seven kills and one ace as the Lady Falcons (3-0) topped the Lady Titans 25-8, 25-12, 25-5 Thursday.
Junior setter Ashlyn Gibeau had five assists and eight aces on the night.
NORTH HALL WINS A PAIR: The Lady Trojans topped White County (25-9, 25-10) and Chestatee (25-7, 25-14) in a tri-match Thursday. Lily Paschall had 33 assists and four aces for North Hall.
Autumn Tucker delivered 14 kills and eight digs for the Lady Trojans. North Hall next plays at home on Tuesday.
GAINESVILLE SPLITS TRI-MATCH AT LAKEVIEW: The Lady Red Elephants (2-2) swept Dawson County (25-11, 25-8) before losing to Lakeview (25-23, 13-25, 18-25) on Thursday.
Savannah Roys had 13 aces, 18 assists, 11 digs and 10 kills for Big Red. Camille Holcomb added another 18 assists for Gainesville.
The Lady Red Elephants will host North Hall at home on Aug. 18.
JEFFERSON WINS TWO OF THREE: Abby Wood had 10 aces and 13 kills for Jefferson in wins against Peachtree Ridge (24-26, 25-12, 26-24) and Morgan County (25-14, 25-12), and loss to Apalachee (25-19, 25-20) on Thursday. Grace Haney finished with 22 assists, six kills and four aces for the Lady Dragons.
Softball
Macy Banks threw a complete-game shutout with eight strikeouts and allowed four hits for East Hall in a 7-0 win against Dawson County on Thursday in Gainesville.
Jennifer Lopez had a two-run double for the Vikings in the sixth inning, while Banks drove in a run on a groundout.
