High School Scoreboard: Chestatee's Braxton Nicholson pitches complete game in win over White County
Nicholson strikes out three and strands nine runners on base in War Eagles 2-1 win over the Warriors

Braxton Nicholson threw a complete game with three strikeouts for Chestatee in a 2-1 win against White County on Wednesday in Cleveland.

Cameron Wilson and Jonathan Yearwood scored the runs for the War Eagles. Wilson, Joe Sutton, Mikey Petraroi, Reggie James and Will Cantrell each had hits.

Chestatee hosts White County 5:55 p.m. on Friday.

BUFORD 7, NORTH HALL 5: Buford’s Austin Wilhite went 2 for 3 with three RBIs and his twin brother, Nick, went 3 for 4 with two RBIs on Wednesday.

Justin Glover went 2 for 4 with two RBIs, and Brandon Marsh finished the night 3 for 4 with two doubles.

For North Hall, Maddux Dill had an RBI double, while Drew Atha and Fowler Brooks each had an RBI.

Buford (14-2, 7-0 8-AAAA) hosts North Hall (12-6, 7-2) at 5:55 p.m. on Friday.

PROVIDENCE CHRISTIAN 6, LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 2: Lakeview’s Brannon Browner went 2 for 3 with a double, and Gabe McConnell had an RBI single on Wednesday.

Peyton Solinsky, Josh Henderson and Alec Bornhorst each had a hit for the Lions.

Lakeview Academy hosts Providence Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.


EAST HALL BOYS 9, OGLETHORPE COUNTY 1 (TUESDAY): Leo Toledo had four goals and an assist for the Vikings on Tuesday.

Also for East Hall, Carlos Castrejon scored two goals and had two assists, Maury Ibarra scored twice and Oscar Gonzalez added a goal and had two assists.

Second-ranked East Hall (13-1) hosts Lumpkin County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

EAST HALL GIRLS 1, OGLETHORPE COUNTY 1 (TUESDAY): Irlanda Mejia scored the lone goal for the Lady Vikings and Kimberly Quintanilla provided the assist.

Goalkeeper Maryanna Hernandez made 14 saves.

East Hall (5-8-1) hosts Lumpkin County at 5 p.m. on Friday.

FLOWERY BRANCH BOYS 6, SALEM 0 (TUESDAY): Nick Biasi and Jaden Harmon each scored two goals.

Goalkeeper Lorenzo Oropeza earned the shutout, and Bilind Amedi and Jovanny Contreras rounded out the scoring with one goal each.

Flowery Branch (7-4, 5-2 8-AAAAA) visits Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.


GAINESVILLE GIRLS 5, LOGANVILLE 0: Katherine Wright, Haley Frankum and Ali Waggoner won in singles competition, while Madi Kiser/Paige Patterson and Paige Ackerman/Sally Callahan won their doubles matches.

Gainesville (15-2, 9-0 8-AAAAA) hosts Heritage today at 4 p.m. in the regular season finale.

GAINESVILLE BOYS 5, LOGANVILLE 0: In singles competition, Reagan Williams, Jeff Kiser and Jackson Fox won their matches, while Roan Thompson/Thomas Carter and Trevor Munn/Max Wuest took care of business in doubles.

BUFORD GIRLS 3, WESLEYAN 2: Peyton Wolfe/Katie Quinn and Tamia Wayne/Emma Place won both doubles matches for the Lady Wolves, while Maria Jose Ferreyros won their lone singles match on Wednesday.

NORTH HALL BOYS 3, FRANKLIN COUNTY 2: Paxton Gillespie/Daniel Martin and Masa Kobayashi/Dawson Smith won in doubles, and Dalton Patterson won the singles match North Hall needed to earn the victory on Wednesday.

North Hall (15-2) hosts Lakeview Academy today in their regular season finale.

NORTH HALL GIRLS 5, FRANKLIN COUNTY 0: Karleigh Dills, Christen Barnes and Lauren Davis won in singles, while Courtney Barnes/MaKenzie Bryant and Carson McCormack/Sydney Patterson won at doubles on Wednesday.

JOHNSON GIRLS 5, CHESTATEE 0 (TUESDAY): Zdena Janderova, Aly Groover and Sloane Sengson won in singles, while Kaitlin Houston/Julia Kay Mallory and Perla Rivera/Ariana Granski won in doubles for the Lady Knights.
