Chestatee took Wednesday’s double header against Rabun County to keep its unbeaten streak alive. In the first game the Lady War Eagles (9-0) beat the Wildcats in a close one 3-2.
Chestatee won the second game 8-2.
Starting pitcher Elizabeth Eddins allowed five hits, and struck out three in seven innings for the Lady War Eagles. Fellow starter Rebecca Eddins struck out eight with five hits allowed in her complete-game showing.
The Lady War Eagles visit White County today.
Jefferson picked up a pair of wins in Tuesday’s tri-match with Madison County and Oconee County. The Lady Dragons (12-5; 2-0 region 8-AAAA) won in straight sets (25-18, 25-16).
Hope Forrester led the Lady Dragons with four kills. Another impact player for the Lady Dragons was Bre Arbanas with one ace and two kills. Hannah Healan had four digs.
Jefferson won in three sets (18-25, 25-15, 25-20) against Oconee County. Savanna Davis played well as she recorded five kills and 16 digs. Abby Wood collected seven kills, 10 digs, Micayla Stopher had seven kills, while Grace Haney aided her team with 11 assists. Bri Gaba had 13 digs.
Jefferson faces Galloway, Lanier, and North Atlanta on Saturday.
Jefferson’s record is now 12-5 and 2-0 in region play.
