Chestatee’s Stephanie Ward shut down Johnson and led the Lady War Eagles softball team to a 12-0 win over Lady Knights on Monday.
Ashley Payne led Chestatee at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Jenny Arthur went 2-for-3, including a double. Meagan Kenimer was 1-for-3 for the night with one triple and five RBIs.
Chestatee (3-5) will travel to play West Hall at 4:30 tonight.
Volleyball
Balanced effort leads the Lady Lions to a win: Lakeview Academy defeated Rabun County (25-17, 24-26, 25-21) at the Lady Wildcats’ home court Monday night.
Louisa Jacobs had eight kills during the match, Morgan Black had five kills and Ivy Godfrey had four kills.
Jackie Vurleson added 10 assists, while Molly Gay had seven assists and Megan Rochester chipped with four digs.
Lakeview (4-3) will play host to Gainesville at 7 tonight.
