The Buford softball team won at North Oconee 2-0 Thursday night.
Buford pitcher Logan Caymol (3-1) pitched five innings, giving up three hits with four strikeouts and two walks. Pitcher Kennedy Kotula earned the save without giving up a hit in two innings of work.
The Lady Wolves were led by Gabby Benson (2 for 3), Biz Walters (2 for 4) and Breanna Gutierrez (1 for 3, RBI).
Buford (8-1, 1-0) hosts South Forsyth and Milton starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.
BANKS COUNTY 1, DAWSON COUNTY 0: Banks County pitcher Mallory Parsons had a complete game one-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and only two walks.
The Lady Leopards scored the only run of the game in the fourth inning on an RBI single from Taylor Parson.
Banks County (5-4, 3-1) visits West Hall 5:55 p.m. Tuesday. Dawson County visits Chestatee Saturday.
Volleyball
The North Hall volleyball team swept North Forsyth (25-21, 25-14) and Clarke Central (25-20, 26-24) at home Thursday night.
The Lady Trojans were led by Lily Paschall with 28 assists and 15 digs. Bly Belcher and Melissa DeVerter each had nine kills. Autumn Tucker had 12 kills and Makenzie Bryant had 18 digs.
North Hall next plays in the Georgia Challenge Saturday.
EAST HALL SPLITS: The Lady Vikings defeated White County (25-16, 25-14) and lost to Tallulah Falls (25-15, 25-21) at home Thursday night.
East Hall’s Minette Maldonado had 18 kills, Summer Lindsey had 16 digs and Savannah Thellman had 25 assists.
East Hall (18-7) visits East Jackson for a tri-match with Hart County 5 p.m. Thursday.
JOHNSON SPLITS TRI-MATCH: The Lady Knights lost to George Walton (25-6, 25-14) and beat West Hall (6-25, 25-18, 25-19) in the Battle of Oakwood Thursday night.
Johnson’s Grace Eidson had eight aces, five kills and 11 assists. Julia Bowers had 14 digs.
