Becca Eddins had two hits and drove in a run for Chestatee (1-0) in a five-inning 8-0 win against Lumpkin County on Monday. Beth Eddins drove in a pair of runs and had a pair of walks.
Becca Eddins pitched the first four innings for Chestatee, allowing three hits with four strikeouts. Beth Eddins pitched an inning in relief for the War Eagles.
FLOWERY BRANCH 4, NORTH HALL 2: Sophomore pitcher Alyssa Kimbrell pitched five shutout innings with four strikeouts, a walk and surrendered two hits. Kara Kight captured the save for the Lady Falcons.
Flowery Branch (1-0) scored two runs in the second inning on a bases-loaded walk to Kasey Smith and an RBI single by Jessica Houston. The Lady Falcons tacked on two more runs in the third inning on an RBI-double by Kight and a fielder’s choice by Isabella Quinn.
The Lady Trojans scored both runs in the sixth inning, the first off an RBI triple by Niki Carver and the second on a Camilla Howell RBI single.
The Lady Falcons will host Jefferson on Thursday for their home opener.
