The Banks County softball team scored a trio of victories on Saturday to win the Stephens County Threads Tournament for the second straight year.
The Lady Leopards (6-3) defeated Clarke Central 12-0 in three innings to begin their day, following that up with a 3-2 victory against East Jackson and a 3-2 win against host Stephens County.
Abby Baird struck out seven to earn the pitching victory in the first contest.
Mallory Parson and Shelby Parson were each 2 for 2 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored, with Kelyn Parson going 2 for 2 with an RBI and a run scored in the initial win.
Mallory Parson picked up the pitching victory with a complete-game effort against East Jackson.
In that second win, Mallory Parson was 2 for 2 with a run scored, and Morgan Rylee went 1 for 2 with two runs scored.
Mallory Parson also earned the victory in the circle with a complete-game, six-strikeout performance against Stephens County.
Kaitlyn Stewart was 2 for 2 with an RBI and Kelyn Parson 1 for 2 with a run scored in the third win of the day.
Banks County hosts Fannin County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
BUFORD WINS 2 MORE IN TOURNEY: The Buford softball team completed a 4-0 run in the Hawk-Bulldog Tournament at Flowery Branch with a pair of victories Saturday.
Buford defeated Jackson County 6-3, then closed its weekend with a 10-3 triumph against Grayson to improve to 6-0 this season.
Bria Bush went three innings in the Jackson County game to earn the win in her first pitching appearance of the season. Bush allowed one earned run on four hits while striking out three in three innings.
Alexus Murray was 1 for 3 with a three-run double, Baylee Sexton went 2 for 4 with an RBI and Tessa Daniels was 1 for 3 with an RBI against Jackson County.
Kennedy Kotula improved to 3-0 in a five-inning outing to take the victory against Grayson. Kotula allowed three earned runs on seven hits with one strikeout.
Daniels was 2 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs, Drew Puckett 2 for 4 with a triple and three RBI and Sexton 2 for 3 with two runs scored versus Grayson.
Buford hosts Cambridge at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
FLOWERY BRANCH TAKES 2 VICTORIES: The Flowery Branch softball team concluded play in the Hawk/Bulldog Classic this weekend with two wins against Parkview and Norcross on Saturday.
In the morning contest, sophomore MacKenzie Harris pitched a two-hitter, while Junior Johanna Earnhart drew a seventh-inning walk to bring in the winning run for a 1-0 victory against Parkview.
In the night contest, sophomore Chloe Zoeller went 2 for 3 with 3 RBIs to help earn a 3-2 victory for the Lady Falcons versus Norcross. Freshman Kara Kight pitched a complete game for the 4-2 Lady Falcons in the evening contest.
Flowery Branch plays at North Hall on Tuesday and Gainesville on Thursday.
