Sophomore Austin Robinson improved his season record to 6-0 Wednesday as the Jackson County baseball team overcame Mountain View, 8-7, in an eight-inning game in Jefferson.

Robinson also went 2-for-4 with three RBI’s, including what proved to be the game-winning RBI in the top of the eighth inning.

Rob Williams went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored for the Panthers (12-5, 5-5 Region 8-AAA).

Andy Williams went 2-for-3 for Jackson County which plays host to Hart County at 5:55 p.m. Friday.

GAINESVILLE 12, PICKENS 0: David Gonzalez threw ten strikeouts to improve his season record to 4-0 Wednesday in Jasper.

Gonzalez also went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and four RBIs at the plate for the Red Elephants (15-1, 11-0 Region 7B-AAA).

Will Maddox went 3-for-4 with a grand slam and five RBIs.

Ryan Griffith and Michael Lorentz each went 2-for-3 and Hunter Anglin went 2-for-2 with three runs scored for Gainesville, which visits Flowery Branch at 5:55 p.m. Friday.

EAST HALL 9, NORTH HALL 7:
Eight different Vikings had hits in their win Wednesday night at Jody Davis Field.

Greg Edwards, Hunter Poole, Desmon Gardner, C.J. White, Justin Jackson, Joseph Matt and Austin Tompkins each collected hits for East Hall.

Seven Trojans collected hits on the night: Jeffery Abernathy, Chris Stevens, Jackson Coker, Hamilton Harper, Lee Sisson, Mason Savage and Holdan Kellar.

Drew Adams hit a home run in the top of third inning for East Hall which visits Johnson at 5:55 p.m. Friday.

North Hall plays host to Lumpkin County at 7 p.m. Friday.

LUMPKIN COUNTY 14, WEST HALL 0: Led by home runs from Will Anderson and John Harris the Indians won Wednesday in Dahlonega.

Anderson had two hits and three RBIs while Harris had two RBIs for Lumpkin County (6-11, 5-5 Region 7A-AAA).

Austin Gooch and Chad Fulton each had two hits and three RBIs.

Ian Mcintosh had two hits with an RBI and Randy Otis added two hits for the Indians, who visit North Hall at 7 p.m. Friday.

LAMBERT 6, WHITE COUNTY 0:
Cody Ansley had the only hit for the Warriors on Wednesday night in Dahlonega.

White County (11-5, 6-4 Region 7A-AAA) visits Pickens at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
