Ralston Cash had a pair of home runs and five RBIs for Lakeview Academy’s (14-5) baseball team in an 11-9 victory against St. Francis on Saturday in Gainesville. Logan Jones added a home run and four RBIs for the Lions.
Lakeview Academy plays host to Towns County at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
JOHNSON GIRLS 2, GAINESVILLE 0 (FRIDAY): The Lady Knights secure the No. 3 spot to the state playoffs from Region 7-AAA with a win at City Park on Friday. Leslie Moon headed in a corner kick for Johnson (9-4, 7-3 Region 7-AAA) from the far post from Kayla Madsen with less than a second remaining in the first half.
Madsen added a goal for Johnson in the second half on a breakaway. The Lady Knights play host to Chestatee Monday at Billy Ellis Memorial.
