The Chestatee high school baseball team defeated the No.6 White County Warriors on Monday night 11-1.

Led by a complete game, eight strikeout performance by Kevin Clifford, the War Eagles moved to 4-5 in Region 7A-AAA (9-5 overall) with the upset.

White County fell to 11-4 overall and 6-3 in Region 7A-AAA.

Rafael Mendoza went 3-for-4 with an RBI, Alex Moore went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Corbin Smith went 2-for-3 with a two-run double for Chestatee, which plays host to Flowery Branch at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY 13, SOCIAL CIRCLE 3:
Nick Drury went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a double and three RBIs to lead Lakeview to the win Monday in Gainesville.

Taylor Simpson earned the win on the mound while going 1-for-3 with a two-run home run for the Lions (13-2, 8-0 Region 8-A).

Tyler Young went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Logan Jones went 3-for-3 for Lakeview which visits Athens Christian at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

WEST HALL 11, EAST HALL 7: With multiple-hit games from three different players the Spartans won at home Monday.

Chad Goff and Ethan Stewart each had two hits and two RBIs, Max Everitt had two hits, and Sean Neal had three RBIs for West Hall (3-12, 2-7 Region 7B-AAA).

Everitt also collected the win on the mound for the Spartans who visit Lumpkin County at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

East Hall visits North Hall at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

JACKSON COUNTY 9, ARCHER 3:
Rob Williams threw six innings, giving up only one hit with four strikeouts in the win Monday at home.

Williams also went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Jackson County (11-5, 4-5 Region 8-AAA).

Austin Robinson went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, Quinn Grogan went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and Ken Miller went 1-for-3 with a double for the Panthers, who visit Mountain View at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

JOHNSON 13, WEST FORSYTH 9: Behind 14 hits, the Knights won Monday in Oakwood.

A.J. Benefield had three hits, including a two-run home run, to lead Johnson (9-7, 6-3 Region 7B-AAA).

Taylor Whitmire had a three-run home run while Chris White, Blake Stacey and Ryan Farmer each had two hits for the Knights.

Win Griffith earned the win on the mound, pitching 5 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts for Johnson which visits Creekview at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

LUMPKIN COUNTY 4, GILMER 3: Led by a complete game from pitcher Chase Grizzle, the Indians won Monday in Ellijay.

Grizzle also added two hits for Lumpkin (5-11, 4-5 Region 7A-AAA).

Randy Otis had a hit and an RBI for the Indians, who play host to West Hall at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

Golf

JOHNSON PLACES FIFTH:
Led by Grant Cagle’s score of 69, the Johnson boys golf team finished fifth out of twenty teams at the North Georgia Classic at Achasta on Monday. Cagle finished second overall among individuals.

Combined with Kevin Bohn’s 79, and an 80 from both Clint Reeves and Josh Foster, the Knights had a total score of 308.

Spalding won with a score of 294.

Johnson returns to action against Gainesville and Habersham Central on April 15 at Chattahoochee Golf Course.
