High school highlights: Dubnik shoots 2-under par for North Hall girls golf; Cherokee Bluff and Flowery Branch pick up baseball wins in region play

North Hall senior Mikayla Dubnik carded a 2-under par 34 in a win against Gainesville on Monday at the  Chattahoochee Golf Club. The top three scores for the Lady Trojans tallied a 126, which was 25 shots ahead of the Lady Red Elephants. 

North Hall's Lyric Sanford finished with a 42, while Gainesville's Karina Collins also carded a 42. 

BASEBALL

Bryce England had a home run and double with five RBIs for Cherokee Bluff in a 7-2 win against Dawson County on Monday in Dawsonville.

Clay Tyas threw 4 2/3 innings and racked up nine strikeouts for the Bears (14-4, 6-1 Region 7-3A). 

Up next, Cherokee Bluff hosts Dawson County at 5:55 pm. Tuesday. 

FLOWERY BRANCH 4, JEFFERSON 2: Kaleb Freeman, Connor Larson and JB Bell all doubled for Flowery Branch on Monday. On the mound, Austin Hatcher threw 5 2/3 innings with six strikeouts to pick up the win. 

Up next, Flowery Branch (13-5, 4-3 Region 8-4A) hosts Jefferson at 5:55 p.m. Wednesday.

Tennis

Grace Nguyen and Page Thompson won in singles for the Gainesville girls in a 4-1 win against Johnson on Monday. In doubles, Callie Patterson/Hannah Williams and Kate Abernathy/Madeline Gruhn won for the Lady Red Elephants. 

Up next, Gainesville plays as the No. 5 seed in the Region 6-7A tournament Tuesday in Cumming. 

FLOWERY BRANCH GIRLS 4, JACKSON COUNTY 1: Alyssa McSpadden, Sandra Hernandez and Julianna Velaj won in singles for the Lady Falcons on Monday. Katie Martin/Savannah Regnier won in doubles for Flowery Branch. 

JACKSON COUNTY BOYS 3, FLOWERY BRANCH 2: Jack Thomas and Caden Caldwell won in singles play for the Falcons on Monday.
