High school golf: Local girls teams start state tournament with strong showings

White County’s Caroline Craig is 2 over par, 74, sitting in first place after the first round of the Class 4A state tournament Monday at Maple Ridge Golf Club in Columbus. Jefferson’s Caroline Martin carded a score of 75, finishing in third place.

North Hall currently stands in seventh place in the team standings after the first round of the Class 3A state tournament. White County is in fifth place, while Jefferson sits in eighth place at the end of the first round.
