High school cross country: North Hall's Caylee Wagner runs to Class 3A state championship

North Hall senior Caylee Wagner ran a dominating race, claiming the Class 3A state championship by more than a minute over her nearest competitor on Friday in Carrollton. 

Wagner finished with a time of 19 minutes, 8 seconds to finish 1:25 ahead of state runner-up Janie Cooper from Westminster. Cherokee Bluff's Adison Myers earned third place (20:39).

Also for the Lady Trojans, Abi Moore took fifth place (20:45).

North Hall's girls took third place in the team standings, while Cherokee Bluff took fifth place. 

In the boys' 3A championship race, North Hall's Andrew Jones, who is committed to run at the University of Virginia, took runner-up with a time of 16:11. West Hall's Stephen Clark took eighth overall with a time of 17:09.

In team standings, Cherokee Bluff finished fourth, while North Hall earned seventh overall.
