Paced by a second-place finish by senior Luke Gaddis with a time of 16 minutes, 34 seconds, the Chestatee High boys cross country team won the Class 4A state championship on Friday in Carrollton. The War Eagles took second, third and fourth place individually and had five runners in the top 10 overall.
Chestatee's Gavin Grater finished third overall (16:58), while Jonathan Torres Cruz earned fourth place (17:01).
Also for the War Eagles, Garrett Grater was sixth overall (17:11) and Javier Rebollar was 10th (17:26).
