High school basketball: Johnson boys rally to beat West Hall

The Johnson boys overcame a deficit at the end of the first quarter to beat West Hall 47-44 on Saturday in Oakwood. 

Trailing 11-7 after the first quarter, the Knights jumped to a 26-23 lead by halftime. 

Leading the scoring for the Knights was Rolando Razo with 13 points, Buddah Johnson had 11 points and Jesse Harbin scored 10.  For West Hall, Sawyer Passmore had a game-high 21 points. 

Up next, Johnson visits Loganville at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

West Hall returns to action against White County on Friday in Cleveland.

NORTH HALL BOYS 46, CHESTATEE 40: Trailing by 12 at halftime, the Trojans rallied for victory on Saturday. Clark Howell had 19 points for North Hall (14-6, 5-2 Region 7-3A), while Matthew Gunter had 9 points. Brenton Nicholson and Jonah Bull had 10 points each for the War Eagles. 

Up next, North Hall visits Fannin County at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Blue Ridge.

Chestatee visits Flowery Branch at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 47, NORTH HALL 39: Emma Easterwood scored a game-high 20 points for the Lady War Eagles (11-8, 4-3 Region 7-4A), while Maggie McNair finished with 11 on Saturday. Up next, Chestatee visits Flowery Branch at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

CHEROKEE BLUFF BOYS 80, WINDER-BARROW 66: Griffin Neville poured in a team-high 32 points and Bosko Norman added 15 for the Bears (12-8) on Saturday in Winder. 

Up next, Cherokee Bluff hosts East Hall on Friday in Flowery Branch. 

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY GIRLS 62, ATHENS CHRISTIAN 25: Joelle Snyder and Eliza Snyder each scored 17 points for the Lady Lions (14-5, 4-0 Region 8-A) on Saturday in Athens. Jackie Allen scored 8 points, while Maddy Towles has a career-best 18 rebounds. 

Up next, Lakeview Academy hosts Prince Avenue Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday. 

LAKEVIEW ACADEMY BOYS 65, ATHENS CHRISTIAN 43: Declan Weidner scored 25 points with six rebounds as the Lions moved to 2-2 in Region 8-A play on Saturday. Conley Millwood had 21 points and seven boards.

Up next, Lakeview Academy hosts Prince Avenue Christian at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.

EAST HALL GIRLS 54, MONROE AREA 38: Alexis Burce put in a team-high 16 points for the Lady Vikings (6-12) on Saturday, while Gracie Smith scored 8.

Up next, East Hall hosts Lumpkin County at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

BUFORD GIRLS 75, PEACHTREE RIDGE 54: Blair Wallis scored 15 points and led four Lady Wolves (17-0) scores in double figures at the Buford City Arena. Tamori Plantin finished with 11 points for Buford, while Kaitlyn Klein and Tatum Ozment each scored 10.

Up next, Buford hosts Clarke Central at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
