Hampton leads East Hall boys to Alaska Airlines Classic championship
Vikings guard tied career high with 39 points

J.C. Hampton matched a career high with 39 points and 10 rebounds for the East Hall boys (10-4) in an 87-74 win against Bartlett High (Alaska) High in the championship game of the Alaska Airlines Classic on Saturday in Anchorage, Alaska.

Hampton was also named tournament MVP for the Vikings, who have won six straight. 

T.D. Teasley scored 15 for East Hall, Hayden Chapman added 13 and Brian Edwards finished with 10 against the defending Class AAAA state champions from Alaska. 

The Vikings finished the game by making 25 of 27 free throws. Tied 35-35 at halftime, East Hall went on to outscore Bartlett 29-16 in the third quarter. 

East Hall visits Fannin County at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Blue Ridge.
