Gainesville High junior Ryan Hogan is currently just three shots behind the leader in sixth place after recording an opening-round 4-over par (76) at the 42nd Atlanta Junior Golf Association Grand Championship on Monday at TPC Sugarloaf in Duluth.

The Grand Championship is a 3-day, 54 hole event for the top points leaders for the 2016 Summer Series.

In the opening round, Hogan carded his lone birdie on the par-4 13th. Sitting in first is Douglasville’s Brady Carman with a first-round 1-over par (73).

Hogan is the defending champion from the 2015 event held at Chateau Elan.
