Tatum McQuillen scored a game-high 12 points for the North Hall girls in a 44-25 opening-round Class AAA playoff win against Pace Academy on Saturday in Atlanta. With the win, the Lady Trojans (19-10) will face Johnson-Savannah on Wednesday.
Taylor Anne Kelley finished the game with six points for North Hall.
RIVERWOOD BOYS 65, FLOWERY BRANCH 63: Justin Quick scored 19 points for the Falcons in the first-round loss to open the Class AAAAA state tournament on Saturday in Atlanta.
John Mills finished with 15 points and Brannon Clark scored 13 for Flowery Branch. The Falcons had a shot at the buzzer from just inside the halfcourt line off a missed Riverwood free throw to try and win the game.
Flowery Branch’s season ends with a 19-9 mark.
BANKS COUNTY BOYS 53, WASHINGTON 34: Carl Cleveland scored 23 points with four rebounds for the Leopards in the opening round of the Class AA state playoffs on Saturday in Homer. With the win, Banks County (23-4) will host the winner of Josey/Metter on Thursday.
Also for the Leopards, Gabe Martin scored 12 points, while Kahmal Wiley had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Banks County has now won 20 straight games.
