Commerce's Grier named 8-A Player of the Year

Commerce senior Jaz Grier has been named the Region 8-A Girls Player of the Year by the league’s coaches after leading the Lady Tigers to the south subregion’s No. 2 seed for this week’s region tournament.

Towns County coach Jim Melton was named Coach of the Year, and Lady Indians senior Jordan Moss earned a spot on the All-Region first team.

Town County’s Gabby Arencibia was chosen to the second team, while Lakeview Academy senior Amber Whitlock and Commerce freshman Lily Mather were named honorable mentions.
