Gainesville High senior Jaymee Carnes gave a verbal commitment Tuesday to play basketball at Wake Forest University.

As a junior, Carnes, a 6-foot-1 forward, was a Times First Team All Area selection with 16 points, eight rebounds and two blocks per game. She was also an All Region selection last year in Region 7-AAA.

Last year, Carnes was a second team all state selection in Class AAA, and also reached the 1,000 point career milestone.
