Buford High senior Brandon Marsh was named Region 8-AAAA Player of the Year in baseball, while his Wolves teammate Justin Glover was named Pitcher of the Year.

Marsh had a batting average of .559 with 66 hits and 25 RBIs. Glover went 10-0 with an ERA of 1.52 and 94 strikeouts for the Class AAAA state runner-up.

In addition to Marsh and Glover, the Wolves had six other players receive first team honors.

Outfielders Austin Wilhite (.455 avg., 51 hits, 37 RBIs), Griffin Jolliff (.398 avg., 39 hits, 44 RBIs), Nick Wilhite (.396 avg., 44 hits, 45 RBIs) and Tanner Alexander (.368 avg., 32 hits, 19 RBIs) made the list from Buford, as well as pitcher Frank Bradshaw (1.26 ERA) and designated hitter Noah Ledford (.326 avg., 31 hits, 26 RBIs).

North Hall had five players make the first team (Reese Olson, Corban Meeler, Fowler Brooks, Taber Mongero, Drew Atha) and one make the second team (Maddux Dill).

Chestatee had two make the first team (Austin Sargent and Will Cantrell), one second team (Sean Irick) and one honorable mention (Joe Sutton).

Johnson’s Mark McGraw received second team honors, and Chandler Barkley was an honorable mention.

White County had five players receive second team honors (Trey Cantrell, Aaron Bennett, Parker Applewhite, Tray Gearin and Jay Taylor).
