Following a strong win over North Hall last week, Buford remains the top-ranked Class AA team in the latest Associated Press high school football poll.

The Wolves will defend their ranking Friday night as they go for their 50th consecutive regular season win when they travel to take on No. 6 Lovett.

Elsewhere in Class AA, Jefferson jumped up two spots to No. 7 after a 56-16 win over Dawson County last week.

In Class AAA, Gainesville and Flowery Branch held on at No. 2 and 3 respectively behind top-ranked Carver-Columbus.

The only change atop any poll occurred in Class AAAAA, where Lowndes overtook Grayson on the strength of a dominant when over then-No. 3 Peachtree Ridge, which fell to No. 9.
