North Hall’s volleyball program got the postseason off to a strong start Saturday in Gainesville.

Now, the Lady Trojans will get another home match in the second round of the Class AAA bracket Tuesday against Jefferson.

In the opener to the 2018 playoffs, Grace Hollifield had 10 kills, two blocks and three aces for the Lady Trojans in a clean sweep of North Murray (25-15, 25-17, 25-16) in the best-of-five match in Gainesville. With the victory, North Hall will face Jefferson, a winner against Adairsville in the other match hosted in Gainesville.

“It was a team effort all around from the service line to digging, hitting and everything in between,” North Hall coach Emi Hughes said. “I’m very proud of the team and now we go back to work and prepare for a good Jefferson team.”

With the win, the Lady Trojans have a 24-17 mark this season. During the regular season, North Hall won both matches against Jefferson.

Also for North Hall against North Murray, Maci Gillespie had 24 assists, three kills and a pair of digs. Madison Brock chipped in seven kills, seven aces and eight digs.

Bella Foster had 18 digs and an ace for the Lady Trojans, while Alexandra Bryant finished with six aces, two kills and 10 digs.

“Our team worked very hard today and executed the way we had to,” Hughes said.
