High school volleyball: Lakeview Academy rolls past Pinecrest Academy in first round of Class A/AA private schools playoffs

Lakeview Academy cruised through the first round of the Class A/AA private schools state tournament, beating Pinecrest Academy (25-10, 25-14, 25-10) on Saturday in Gainesville. With the win, the Lady Lions (43-10) will face Walker in the second round Tuesday in Gainesville. 

Leading the way in the first round for the Lady Lions, Maddy Child had eight aces, while Sadie Thrailkill and Hannah Perkins each finished with three aces. Thrailkill also chipped in 16 kills, followed by Madison Dowdy (7) and Anna Wylie (4). 

Child also chipped in 17 assists for Lakeview Academy, while Maddy Towles added seven.

Linda Geib had a team-high two blocks for the Lady Lions, while Perkins and Wylie each had one. 

Walker advanced to the second round by beating Wesleyan in the other match in Gainesville.
