High school softball: Flowery Branch tops Chestatee in 7-4A tournament
Lady Falcons advance to face Marist in championship series

The Flowery Branch softball team is headed to the Region 7-4A championship after defeating Chestatee 7-3 on Monday in Flowery Branch. Alyssa Kimbrell pitched a complete game with 12 strikeouts for Flowery Branch. 

The Lady Falcons drove in two runs in the fifth inning and four runs in the sixth inning. Aubrey Bourrie had two RBIs for Flowery Branch, along with a double in the sixth inning. Avery Thomas drove in two runs in the sixth inning for the Lady Falcons.

Flowery Branch faces Marist in a doubleheader at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in Flowery Branch for the region crown. If necessary, Game 3 will be played on Thursday in Atlanta.
