High school soccer: Lakeview Academy girls team earns playoff berth with win over Prince Avenue Christian

Millie Filson scored twice and fellow freshmen Sara Nivens, Lauren Scott and Maggie Abbound scored once in a 5-1 victory for the Lady Lions over Prince Avenue Christian. The win secured a spot for Lakeview Academy in the state tournament. Filson and Isabella Rojas-Alban had two assists each and Maddy Towles had one. Celia Wilson-Patino made several saves in goal.

Lakeview Academy visits Athens Academy on Thursday.

GREATER ATLANTA CHRISTIAN BOYS 1, NORTH HALL 0: Ty Smith made 12 saves, but a corner kick in the last 20 minutes of the match propelled the Spartans over the Trojans (6-8, 2-4 Region 7-3A).

GREATER ATLANTA CHRISTIAN GIRLS 5, NORTH HALL 0: The Lady Trojans (4-8-1, 3-3 Region 7-3A) finish fourth in the region and will play either Calhoun or Adairsville in the first round of the state playoffs.

WEST HALL BOYS 4, CHESTATEE 3 (PKs): Luis Olguin, Juan Aldaco and Osman Turcios each scored in regulation for West Hall on Tuesday.

CHESTATEE GIRLS 7, WEST HALL 0: Kyleigh Drew recorded a hat trick before halftime with two assists from Vanessa Camacho. Kristy Guardiola scored once with a help from Camacho. Drew returned in the second half with two more goals assisted by Greyson Wood.
