North Hall’s JT Fair intercepted a second-quarter Cherokee Bluff pass and also ran for two touchdowns as part of 28 unanswered points before the half in a 42-14 win Friday at The Brickyard.
Fair scored on a 31-yard run to tie it at 7-7, then a 1-yard dive to make it 14-7 midway through the second quarter.
After Kevin Rochester scored on a short Trojans (3-2) touchdown run, they manufactured another touchdown before halftime. Fair caught a 29-yard pass down to the 1, then Jacob Dickey scored with less than 2 minutes before halftime. North Hall (3-2, 1-0 Region 7-3A) went into the break with a four-touchdown score, despite three first-half turnovers.
Cherokee Bluff (1-3, 0-1) turned it over five times in the opening two quarters.
For the Trojans, Jacob Dickey had a team-high 103 yards. North Hall ran for 306 yards. Fair had 141 yards of total offense. For Cherokee Bluff, Jayquan Smith had a team-high 90 yards.
The Bears scored first on a Myka Sims fumble recovery in the North Hall end zone. Late in the fourth half, Charles Tolbert punched it in on a 7-yard score.
